ENFP personality is the abbreviation for Extraversion, Intuition, Feeling and Perception. This is referred to as one of the 16 personality types as published by the MBTI or Myers-Briggs Type Indicator. Based from the manual of MBTI, people having this type of personality have the abbreviated characteristics practiced in their entire life.
Extraversion – People having this personality are those who choose to spend their time with a wide circle of friends and acquaintances and this is where they gain their energy during social situations.
Intuition – They tend to have abstract way of thinking instead of a concrete one. People with this personality are focusing on a bigger picture instead of the details. They would also think about the future possibilities instead of the immediate realities.
Feeling – Having this personality makes a person value personal considerations more than the objective criteria. At time when they are asked to decide, these people tend to give more attention to the social implications than in logical terms.
Perception – Withholding judgment and delaying important decisions, these are the ways on how people with this personality think. They prefer to have their options always open whenever there are changes with the circumstances.
Though people with ENFP personality may seem to be as energetic and lively on they show their selves to be, their personality changes when they are under pressure. Just like any person with different personality, there is always something changing in the life or attitude of a person when he or she is under pressure.
Things that People with ENFP Personality Do or Feel under Stress
It is described that when people with the ENFP personality is under stress or pressure, they develop the tendency of overextending themselves in either emotional or physical commitments. The proclivity of these people for procrastination and overlooking of details are the ones that complicate whatever circumstances they may have. Whenever they get stressed in not pleasing other people, they tend to show signs of over-sensitivity and irritability. Furthermore, when they feel really stressed they always feel alienated. Most of the time, they would engage themselves deception which obscure whatever is happening within themselves.
Once stressed, a person with ENFP personality easily finds particular symbolic meanings in every immediate circumstance. Most of the time they tend to interpret these things as future problems and makes them more stressed. They most likely feel that they would lose control with their independent identities and would feel they have been split apart virtually by any intruding circumstances.
They would usually feel that they are not really there or would feel that someone or something took away the entire essence of who they really are. Because of this, most of the people having this kind of personality would subject themselves in feeling shameful because they would feel they are an impostor, fake or a phony. It is said that when the pressure and stress increases, the person can be attributed to various malevolent schemes just to show and explain to others what their fears are. This is due to the feeling of being withdrawn, over-worried and tunnel-visioned as they suffer from extreme emotions.
