Face Reading Techniques

Taken as a whole, face reading techniques may strike you as an odd concept. However, taken as a whole, they are indeed a legitimate means of understanding someone. There is a long-standing science behind the notion that our faces reveal a lot about our personalities. In order to achieve this understanding, certain techniques are in place that are designed to create portraits based on the idea of face reading. This practice is also known as physiognomy and personology. Here is a look at the most popular techniques followed for face reading another individual.

Techniques For Face Reading

These face reading techniques are hardly a new invention. Aristotle is credited as the first person to truly explore the concept of face reading in depth. From there, face reading became a key component in the medieval era’s interpretation of astrology. It was used in criminology throughout the 18th and 19th centuries. It stands today as a means for understanding personality traits and mental faculty.

In face reading, it is believed that every aspect of a person’s personality can be found in the features that define their face. The techniques within face reading are designed to create a strong portrait of a person, without that person ever opening their mouth. Here are some examples of the types of techniques you can start to use today for face reading.

1. Face Shape
Fleshy, rounded faces belong to people who are sensitive and prone to caring. Meanwhile, someone with a square face can be aggressive, even domineering.

2. Foreheads
Straight foreheads suggest that an individual is something of a progressive thinker. Someone with a curved forehead might be someone who excels at creative concepts, but has a difficult time with things like math.

3. Eyebrows
People with distinctive eyebrows can be approachable, cheerful, and kind. If someone has eyes that are set closely together, they can be very good at concentration.

4. Noses
Large, over-sized nose types can have a violent streak inside themselves. Someone who has a snub nose might be literary-minded, but they may also lack elegance and sophistication.

5. Jawlines
Strong jawlines can suggest a strong personality, while wide jawlines can suggest someone has an extremely competitive personality.

6. Mouths and Lips
A small mouth is often associated with feminine qualities, even in men. Full, rounded lips can suggest someone has the capacity to be considerate and sensitive.

Next time you take some time to study another’s face size and shape, keep this invaluable face reading techniques in mind.
