Type D Personality Traits

The type D personality is a psychology term to describe individuals who are negative in nature and are in a consistent state or worry or irritability. These individuals are quite often distressed and have very low self-esteem. People who have a type D personality do not share their feelings with others because they are in constant fear of disapproval or rejection. 21% of the population today have been confirmed to have a type D personality and most of those are heart patients.

Send individuals with type D personality do not share their feelings with others they tend to become depressed and often suicidal due to their bottled up emotions. They are consistently worrying and expecting the worst to happen to them which causes them to suffer from anxiety as well as depression. Stress impacts this type of person very easily and they can be very hostile towards even family members as well as their co-workers and friends. They do not tend to go out much and do not draw themselves to social situations.

Individuals with type D personality tend to be at a bigger risk for heart problems and other cardiovascular issues. However, they do tend to be reliable people primarily because of their constant fear of saying no and in return getting rejected. They can be very decisive people but at the same time do not directly face their own problems and avoid confrontation at absolutely every cost. A person with type D personality does not like to be told what to do so they do not do well in the workplace. Most of their thoughts are not productive and they like motivation and the ability to be creative. There are ways that with assistance from others that this personality can be turned around.

If you are a person with type D personality then therapy is the best answer for you. They can help you learn how to control your thinking process as well as your negative emotions. Figuring out what causes your fear of rejection can also make a big impact on your personality and how you function around others. Learning how to express your feelings and not keep them bottled up inside will lower your anxiety and make you a much happier person overall. The health risks are much greater for people with type D personality so it is important to seek help as soon as possible.
