Define Halo Effect Psychology

Halo effect is considered to be one of the most influential cognitive biases wherein the overall impression of an observer is evident. This greatly helps individuals in observing the entire feelings as well as the thoughts of the people’s character. People define halo effect psychology after the name of well-renowned and very popular psychologists Edward Thorndike wherein he was able to refer a person’s character as perceived as the halo. This includes their neatness as well as their bearing and all other aspects physically.

Apart from the physical qualities, they are also asked to determine some personal qualities of each soldier which includes their dependability, loyalty and even their cooperation with each other. His goal was to widen the definition of halo effect through ratings of each soldier s characteristics that could be found out by the commanding officers.

With the experiment of the two officers, it was found out that there is a great correlation that is based from the characteristics found on the soldiers. The correlations were seen to be very high and even from each other. The characteristics of the soldiers are considered to be correlated with each other, depending to the negativity and even the positivity of their characteristics.

Essential Function of Attractiveness for the People

The attractiveness of the people is considered to be producing halo effect. This provides people with the attraction that is very valuable and considerable. This is influenced by several changes in the traits of the people as seen in their traits. Although these are being attracted to some judgment but still perceptions on the part of the physical traits of the people are being tied up together.

These are proven by different studies through the intelligence and personal and physical aspect of the people. Even if there are some instances that attractiveness of the people may also affect traits of the people in some point but still through the help of this halo effect it could always be resolved and could enhance their skills and traits in return.
