Enneagram Relationship Compatibility

The Enneagram personality system is regarded as one of the best tools to understanding people with the use 9 behavioral patterns relating to various aspects in life, such as relationships. It is said that knowing these patterns can help us with engaging with a certain individual.

Here are relationship compatibility concepts for each of the Enneagram personality types:

Type 1 – The Reformer

Partners of this personality type would often be preached to, corrected, managed and tidied up, as this type tends to have strong opinions and quickly instruct their partners with procedures and principles. To make things work, partners should be aware that perfection and cleanliness are highly valued. Naturally, reformers feel benefited from their partners understanding the need for perfection.

Type 2 – The Helper

People belonging to this type tend to look after, support and manipulate their partners, which can be a good thing considering the huge amount of love given, yet can also be bad because it might make partners feel that they will never be able to give back such amount of love to satisfy this personality type. As you can see, helpers need to know that they are loved as they are.

Type 3 – The Achiever

Achievers would surprise their partners by slotting them into a very busy schedule, as these individuals would tend to multi-task efficiently on the run. They would do well in a relationship with partners who would love them whether they have produced results or not.

Type 4 – The Individualist

This type is emotional, moody and even demanding, so their partners would find it difficult to make them happy. Typically, individualists would benefit from being treated as special and would crumble if they are not. A beneficial partner for these individuals is one who is steady and does not react negatively to the turbulent emotions on display.

Type 5 – The Investigator

The investigator likes to relate through the rational mind and does not put themselves too deep into emotions. Also, they are exceptionally sensitive, which means that a partner of this type of person should be ready to give space and avoid demanding for too much, as this would make the investigator withdraw further.

Type 6 – The Loyalist

This type is characterized with always having doubts, but is also cautious, which means that loyalists would steer you to take the safe route in all your endeavors as their partner. Problems can arise when a partner feels fussed over or controlled while safety is obsessively sought after.

Type 7 – The Enthusiast

Often socially active, people belonging to this type follow entertaining ideas and often feel the need to stay up, which means that their partners should be able to join them or at least listen about their afterwards. It is important to recognize their need for adventure and dynamic action.

Type 8 – The Challenger

Challengers can be dominating to their partners, as they can be forceful and apt to explode easily. However, partners should remember that these individuals have a very sensitive heart, though they do not realize how frightening or forceful they may appear to other people.

Type 9 – The Peacemaker

While those under this type are often peaceful, passive and amiable, they would also drive their partners mad by avoiding essential tasks or going numb. Generally, they do well with partners who would support them on their passion and desires in life.

By understanding Enneagram relationship compatibility, we will have greater awareness into how we go round our relationships. This would allow couples to have better understanding of each other and be happier in their lives.
