It is important that you learn what it takes to gain self respect over time and how you can make this a reality. Self respect is different from self esteem in the way that esteem comes from what you feel and respect comes from what you do. This means that you can take real action if you are looking to gain self respect.Here are a few of the best ways that you can gain self respect.

Know Your Values

When you are trying to gain your own self respect, you need to know where your values lie. This is the only way that you can take real action and make real change. You need to know what is right for you and what you need to do in order to be true to yourself. This means that values are different for different people, but the only way that you can gain real self respect is for you to identify what your own values are.

Prioritize

Trying to make a lot of changes all at once is never a good idea. This means that you need to learn how you can prioritize your life in a way that allows you to gain self respect quickly. You need to choose the one aspect of your life that needs the most change. This is where you should start when you are trying to have more respect for yourself. Make sure that the area of your life that you choose allows you to make a real change. This means that you need to be able to see some results due to your action right away. This will get you motivated and allow you to gain a little self respect right from the start. You should always start small with your goals and then work up to big goals over time.
