A psychological segment which deals to abnormal behavior and psychopathology is called Abnormal Psychology. This term has broad meaning of variety of disorders from depression to sexual deviation and a lot more. Abnormal psychology potential topics include particular treatment or psychological disorders modalities like:

Borderline affective disorder or emotionally unstable: This is characterized by definite inclination to impulsively act and with no consequence considerations were in the mood is capricious and unpredictable. They are unable to control their behavioral explosions and emotions. A tendency of quarrelsome and conflict to others behavior. There are two types, lack in impulse control and emotional instability.

Symptoms: low self worth, mood swings, intense emotion, impulsive and harmful behavior, relationship problems, fear of abandonment, aggressive behavior, hurting themselves, suicide attempts, paranoid, psychosis and violent temper.

Antisocial personality disorder: Is a chronic mental state were in their way of thinking are dysfunctional and destructive. They don’t know if what is right from wrong, they disregard the right and feeling others. They tent to manipulate, antagonized and treat other people harshly, they can also lie, act impulsively or violently. This makes them unable to finish responsibilities to work school or even to their families.

Symptoms: abusive or poor relationship, dangerous behavior, irresponsible behavior, agitation, aggression, hostility, irritability, exhibitionism and deceit exploit others.

Seasonal affective disorder or seasonal disorder: This is a mood disorder which happens same time every year. The rare form is called summer depression, which begin early summer, late spring or end of fall. This commonly starts during winter or end of spring.

Symptoms: fatigue, difficulty concentrating, weight gain, increased in sleep and desire for time alone.

Binge Eating disorder: A very serious condition which can be characterized with uncontrolled eating which results to weight gain. People with this type of disorder commonly eat large amount of food without feeling full. Sometimes they do this to cope up anxiety, depression or stress.

Symptoms: losing sexual desire, frequent dieting, low esteem feeling, weight fluctuates, eating abnormal amount of food, feeling of unable to control eating and eating rapidly.

Schizophrenia: Serious disorder in the brain which distorts persons way of thinking, perceives the reality, expresses their emotions and acts. This is the most disabling and chronic of all the mental illnesses. Commonly problems in functioning in the school, society, work and even relationships.

This can leave the patient withdrawn and frightened. It’s a decease that is life-long and can never be cured, but with proper treatment patients can control this. There are some who thought that this is a type of split personality, but it’s not. It’s a psychosis that the person cannot differentiate which is real or not. When a person suffers mental illness they lose touch from their reality and their world is a muddle of confusing sounds, images and thoughts. Their behavior is shocking and strange. The unexpected change in behavior and personality is called psychotic episode.

Symptoms: loss of appetite and hygiene, delusion, hallucinations, disorganized speech, depersonalization, social withdrawal and sense of control from the outside forces.
